For as long as we have been on this planet, we have been evolving spiritually. It has not necessarily been a smooth journey. We have gained and lost our spiritual bearings many times and have gone through long dark periods as well as days of enlightenment. But we always keep evolving towards a higher order of awareness. In our own lifetime, even if most of us didn’t notice it, in 1986, during the ‘harmonic convergence’ we experienced a slight shift in consciousness and a raising of our vibration. This was when there was a powerful vibration hitting our planet and us, resulting from there being a number of planets in a particular and rare alignment with Earth.
In our own time, there is a deeply felt expectation among people everywhere that another shift in consciousness is just around the corner. The general feeling is that it will be a very dramatic shift in consciousness, where we shall move from our current reality based on fear, separation, pain and suffering, to a reality based on Love, Harmony and Oneness – the “Heaven-on-Earth scenario.” But it is also expected that the shift will be preceded by an extended period of chaotic breakdown and a total collapse of all existing financial, legal, governmental and social structures everywhere.
As you probably know, it had been prophesied at many different times down the centuries, and from many different sources, that there would be such a breakdown around the year 2012 and that it would be cataclysmic in nature. There also seemed to be broad agreement about how it might look. None of it pleasant. These prophecies appeared in such places as the biblical Book of Revelation as well as the traditional texts of the Mayans, the Hopi Indians and other indigenous peoples.
The thing that is most frequently mentioned with respect to 2012 is the fact that the Mayan calendar comes to an abrupt end on December 21st, 2012. In more modern times, many of Edgar Cayce’s predictions for the new millennium concerned political upheaval on a global scale and ‘earth changes’ that would be cataclysmic in nature, but that it will be followed by a Great Awakening and a major shift in consciousness.
The financial crash of 2008 might have been the beginning of the breakdown, and at the time of writing it appears to be ready to happen all over again. Right now it looks like the calm before the storm. How this will play out we don’t really know. However, if it goes according to the prophecies, we could soon be witnessing the death of civilization and the social order as we know it and the birth of a wholly new way of living and being. The long experiment with separation will be over.
For such a breakthrough to happen, the breakdown of the old order and the world view that has supported it has to happen. It’s the equivalent of a healing crisis and in that sense, will be perfect and all part of the divine plan. A Radical Forgiveness perspective, no less. The question is whether you will be able to see it that way and hold that higher vibration even when things get really bad? Or will you, like the majority, be drawn back down into fear and despondency?
Not everyone will choose to go with the change, apparently. Many will resist the change and the degree of that resistance will determine how difficult and cataclysmic the transition will be. This is why it is so important to begin preparing for it immediately by doing the work to raise your vibration to a level at which you will be able to maintain the Radical Forgiveness perspective, no matter what is happening. Those of us who are awake can make a difference by applying our knowledge and tools not only to survive but also to be proactive in facilitating this shift.

I believe the shift is going to happen and that 12-21-12 is a portal – not necessarily physical, but metaphysical in nature – that some of us will enter, many of us will hover near and dither over entering, and some will not even notice. I want to be in the first group. The Earth is undergoing a radical transformation, and depends on us to aid her, as we depend on her to aid us. As Earth evolves, so will we.
I have a Teacher – an Ascended Master called Djwahl Kuhl – who has been teaching his students how to stay awake for this most incredible opportunity. I wish blessings for all seekers during this momentous time!
I have long thought that there would be not so much a shift in consciousness, as an actual split. Those who, as you instruct, stay centered in peace, love and forgiveness, etc. will rise so far above those who – by their own desire (ignorance?) – choose to remain in the anger-fear sydrome that the “reality” of the second group will seem to have ceased to be. I’m not sure either group will know this split is happening. For the first group, the world will simply seem to come out of its chaos and at last embrace Truth. For the second group, the world will simply seem to continue as before or even get worse. For that will be their expectation. Another way to envision it would be two (Actually, I think there are untold numbers) parallel universes – each existing simultaneously, but unaware of the other.

I find this post extremely disturbing, Colin. And I am glad that it appears that not many people have read it. I do not think it is an appropriate means to try reach to your audience, Colin, by posting such things.
I chose to believe that as so many of us are cleaning up our vibrations, practicing compassion, and using tools like radical forgiveness, we can avoid a cataclysmic earth shift. When you are in the midst of it, it may not look like things are getting better. There are many hopeful signs that we are moving into a more peaceful loving world already. The falling of dictatorships around the world, and the collapsing of some of our institutions of greed are indicators that shift is already here. Staying out of fear is key as is the larger perspective that we are part of something bigger than ourselves that it is positive for our earth and humanity. Staying in possiblity and having a belief that we can find solutions to our energy issues and other challenges of this time will help us not go into our competition based ways of thinking and being.
The more we can stay centered and out of fear, the more likely we will be to know where we need to be on the planet and how to respond to any earth shifts that are going to occur in the years ahead as mother earth does what she needs to do in this time.
There are many loving energies standing by on the other side to help us as we make this transition. We are not alone and can ask for help.
Learning to receive our guidance and quiet our minds is essential to being able to access this guidance.

I am one of the confused masses just trying to keep my tiny corner of the world in order. I study A Course in Miracles and, with constant help from the Holy Spirit, practice and practice forgiving everyday with mixed, (but perhaps improving) results. Iam only too aware that my efforts to keep my personal carbon footprint minimal–use of a solar oven, bicycle, and composting toilet have a negligible impact on a world dying of global warming, mass extinctions, and spreading drought. So I realize that the future upheaval will come, despite my feeble efforts to avert it, and I must be ready to face, with courage, grace, and generosity the liklihood of roving bands of panic-stricken neighbors who will be desperate for whatever I have to share. Will I be able to give them my last quart of clean water, and my last potato? Will I behave as courageously as I like to imagine now, as I sit in a warm house with a full belly? Only the test of crisis will tell for sure, but meanwhile, I keep practicing generosity, kindness, compassion, and forgiveness, so perhaps I will be able to rise to the occasion, helping someone else, when it is my turn to die. Since everyone dies, why not die helping someone else? As far as portals and being spiritually advanced eough to enter, I have no illusions about being one of the chosen. Like I said, I’m just one of the confused masses doing the best I can here at the bottom of the rung. Can I think any differently?
I am feeling excited and totally alive and aware of the change that is coming. So many people I am coming in contact who also feel the change coming. They are people I don’t even know their names and we find each other and affirm our spiritual connection. I am in prayer with my family and our friends as we come closer to the time. I received wonderful guidance from Spirit in the way I conduct my psychotherapy groups. The spiritual connection with group members is open and flowing, even with those who initially join the group without direction or intent. Spirit is giving me new format to tie in forgiveness, acceptance, change, and insight during my groups in a way I have never experienced before. At times, I don’t even feel in control of what I am saying and am delighted with the group member response. I can only be grateful and thankful and remain in constant prayer with Spirit. Keep counseling us so we can stay in contact with each other!
